Tthe Central Government has approved the implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Pradhan Mantri Poshan
Shakti Nirman (PN POSHAN) Scheme upto 2025-26. Now the Scheme is due for appraisal and approval by the competent authority
for the next five year cycle of 2026-27 to 2030-31. However, the Ministry of Finance has conveyed that, in the interest of
uninterrupted implementation of the on- going schemes which are ending on 31st March, 2026, (i) all such Schemes will be extended
up-to 30th September 2026 or date of approval of the scheme for the 16th FC cycle by the competent authority, whichever is earlier;
(ii) Such temporary extension of the existing scheme shall have the same scope,
structure, nature, coverage cost norms and other terms & conditions as was applicable for the 15th FC period.
2. At the National Level, the Department of School Education and Literacy has established a system of Programme Approval Board-
PM POSHAN (PAB - PM POSHAN) under the chairpersonship of Secretary, DoSEL. The PAB - PN POSHAN comprising of experts and representatives
from various Ministries/Departments of the Government of India meets every year to

To consider and approve the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWP&B) proposals for implementation of PM POSHAN Scheme for the
coming financial year submitted by the State/UT.
